LADC-I
Group Facilitator

Born in Lowville, New York, Amy Steinmetz has been sober and drug-free for nearly 36 years and has worked in addiction treatment for 31 years. She credits recovery with giving her purpose, integrity, and a foundation for helping others.

Amy is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Level I (LADC-I), and a retired forensic counselor. She entered the addiction treatment field following a career change and encouragement from a rehabilitation counselor. Her professional experience includes work with patients in both behavioral medicine and community agency settings.

Amy combines professional experience with decades of lived recovery, bringing empathy, authenticity, and hope to her work with clients while demonstrating that lasting recovery is possible. She draws on a range of evidence-based and recovery-centered approaches, recognizing that there is no single path to healing.

As Group Facilitator at Palm Beach Gardens Recovery, Amy is continually inspired by the transformative power of the group process and works to help clients experience the connection, growth, and hope that emerge in a supportive community. She would like to see the addiction treatment field continue moving toward recovery-informed and trauma-informed care that values lived experience alongside clinical expertise.
